Traditional instruments need stable air.

The pipa combines a thin soundboard, carved wooden frets and silk or nylon strings. Dry air can lift frets and crack the soundboard, and damp air can swell the body and loosen joints.

Holders with a soft grip support the neck while the body rests clear of the cabinet floor. Accessories such as picks and cloths have their own shelf.
